You're reading: Klitschko, Nuland discuss potential investments for Kyiv, improvement of capital’s security

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko at a meeting in Kyiv have discussed the possible attraction of investments to implement energy-efficient projects in Kyiv and the improvement of the security situation in the city, the mayor's press service has said.

“We discussed the situation in Ukraine, as well as a number of issues that concern investments, and the economic development and security of Kyiv. There is mutual understanding and support from the U.S, side on each of these issues. In particular, [we discussed] the help that the United States might provide in attracting private investors,” Klitschko said.

Moreover, Klitschko said that during the meeting he discussed how to improve Kyiv’s security system.

“The American party is ready to provide qualified specialists, who will consult with us on how to organizea security system in the capital and how to improve the work of the law enforcers, to make it more efficient,” Klitschko said.

The two officials also managed to cover issue of the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, an area in which the U.S. side has a great deal of experience.
