Kyiv is ready to accommodate about 30,000 fans who are to attend the matches of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Anatoliy Holubchenko has said.

"We have already reached the figure of 30,000. We are confident that we will cope with this task [providing accommodation for Euro 2012 fans]," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

Holubchenko said that TUI Travel had already signed contracts for to accommodate 8,000 fans in Kyiv. In addition, the Hamalia Travel Company, which won a tender on the accommodation of Euro 2012 fans, which was conducted by Kyiv City State Administration, signed contracts for the accommodation of 18,000 fans, whereas contracts on the accommodation of 4,500 fans are currently being signed, he added.

Holubchenko also said that if necessary, Kyiv was considering the possibility of putting up floating accomodation on the Dnipro River.

Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts in Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Hrytsyk said that Hamalia had signed contracts for 7,200 rooms with a total of 18,200 beds.
