The delay in the construction of a road and utility networks leading to the Bionic Hill innovation park (Kyiv), one of the largest investment projects in Ukraine, affects the economy of Kyiv city and the country in general, the press service of the innovation park has reported, referring to President of Bionic Hill Viktor Halasiuk.

“The company is acting in line with Ukrainian law and has all the required documents to realize the project, including permits to build. Last year we dismantled military facilities, reclaimed land, removed waste and dead wood from the land plot, tested the pillar field, built the approach roads for construction machinery, etc. Everything is ready to start construction. We expect that the city will start fulfilling the counter liabilities. Due to the delay with the realization of the project each month the city receives over $10 million less in taxes and hundreds of talented engineers leave the country in search of better conditions,” he said.

He said that Bionic Hill is not only a construction projects, but this is the project of development of a new innovation economy of Ukraine, which foresees the creation of 35,000 jobs and payment of $160 million of taxes a year.

Earlier Bionic Hill reported that the terms of the construction of the project were revised.

Bionic Hill is a first innovation park in Ukraine designed to form Eastern-European platforms in the capital of Ukraine to develop high-tech business.

The innovation park of 147 hectares will be built in Sviatoshynsky district in Kyiv. The park will have business centers, a research and education complex and a high-tech production zone. It is planned to construct a hotel with a conference hall, a shopping center and accommodation of various formats for companies’ employees on the territory of the innovation park. A large-scale recreation zone will be created.

At the phase of the full development of the Bionic Hill park, it is anticipated that revenues from resident innovation companies will reach $1 billion a year.

The project is being realized under an initiative of Ukrainian developer UDP.
