Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said that the head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry department for Kyiv Valeriy Koriak has been dismissed following the brutal dispersal of the EuroMaidan protest on November 30.

“After the events from Friday to Saturday the chief of police has
been dismissed, and all employees had strict explanatatory work,” he
said at the meeting with ambassadors of the foreign states in Kyiv on
Monday.

As reported, on December 1, chief of Kyiv police Valeriy Koriak has
asked Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko to consider his resignation
at a Sunday meeting of the ministry’s board.

After the board meeting Zakharchenko said that Koriak was suspended until an internal probe is completed.

The reshuffle followed the use of force in dispersing the Euromaidan protest on November 30.
