works: removing external air conditioners and broken glass, so that it
does not fall on people’s heads, and it is safe to be there,” reads the
report, citing Kyivmiskbud Chief Engineer Oleh Rehyda.

He said that the building is being examined and the extent of the
damage is being assessed, including the state of the bearing structures
of the Trade Union House.

“In around two week we’ll enter the building. Expert work is
underway, and we’re waiting for the conclusions of the preliminary
examination,” he added.

Rehyda also said that when the examination is finished, the next
steps will be known and possible participants in the realization of the

Rehyda said that as of early April Kyivmiskbud continue repair works
at premises (the fourth and eight-eleventh floors) of Kyiv City

“Around 40 specialists are involved in repair works. The tenth and
eleventh floors will be finished this week, and then we’ll stick to the
schedule. Maidan Self-Defense representatives and Maidan activists are
helping us,” Rehyda said.

As reported, referring to the preliminary assessment conducted by
Chief Architect of Kyiv Serhiy Tselovalnyk, the cost of the restoration
of the Trade Union House anyway will exceed UAH 100 million.
