The construction of two new Kyiv subway stations - Ipodrom and Teremky - is going according to the plan, so the stations will open by the end of this year, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"Construction is going to schedule. This station [Ipodrom] will open in October this year, and Teremky station will also open this year," Popov said during a meeting on the construction site of the Ipodrom subway station on Monday, May 7.

He added that construction work is being carried out at Teremky station.

"The drilling [of the tunnel] is over, today the tunnel shields will start moving towards the Teremky station," he added.

Earlier, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said that the Ipodrom and Teremky stations would be launched in October and December 2012.
