After thousands of travelers were evacuated from Boryspil airport due to a bomb scare, the suspected caller was arrested, police said.

“It is a man who suffers from a mental disorder. He made two calls with an
interval of several minutes and said the same phrase that the airport  had a bom planted,” the press service of the Main Department of the Interior
Ministry of Ukraine in Kyiv region told Interfax-Ukraine.

The arrest came after  thousands of passengers were evacuated from Terminals B and F of Boryspil airport because of  the bomb scare.

The airport’s press service said 3,000 people were evacuated from terminal F and around 2,000 more from the terminals C and B.

“Bomb experts did not find anything there,” a source in Boryspil told the agency.

The airport’s press service also said that the caller is a Kyiv resident and he made the calls from the capital.

Air traffic was disrupted for some time as no planes were allowed to leave the airport, and passengers were kept on board of the newly arrived planes.
