The Days of Moscow have officially kicked off in Kyiv.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, while opening the Days of Moscow on Wednesday, said that this event would help the two capitals exchange their experience, as well as open up new horizons of cooperation.

“We will consider current issues in the field of urban planning, architecture, health, security, and study the potentials of our capitals,” Popov said.

He noted that the Days of Moscow in Kyiv were being held for the first time for a decade.

Popov said that a project for the introduction of the Days of Kyiv in Moscow had been planned in a year.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also stressed the strengthening of such cooperation.

“Moscow is a huge market for Ukrainian partners,” he said.

He said investment in Moscow’s economy had steadily increased in recent years. At the same time, the pace of the construction of transport infrastructure, particularly the metro network and housing, is gaining momentum, he added.

He said that significant funds and specialists would be required for this purpose.

As part of the Days of Moscow in Kyiv the sides signed a protocol on cooperation in the health sector, as well as on cooperation between Kyiv City State Administration and Russia’s Vnesheconombank, which envisages financing for the construction of the fourth metro line in Kyiv.
