Part of the EUR 1 million allocated by UEFA to Kyiv to equip fan zones with the necessary facilities for Euro 2012 will be spent on upgrading Khreschatyk Street, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov said.

“Mainly the money will be spent on upgrading. Certainly it’s
necessary to repair the part of the main street [Khreschatyk], where the
fan zone was sited,” Popov told journalists on July 3.

At the same time, he said that the money from UEFA has not been allocated yet.
