You're reading: Popov: Kyiv’s general plan should take account proposals of local residents

Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said that proposals from residents of Kyiv obtained during the discussion of the development strategy and draft general plan of the city and its suburbs until 2025 will be reflected in the draft general plan.

"The residents of the city have provided invaluable assistance in resolving the issue of strategic planning. Today, during the discussion of Kyiv’s development strategy, thousands of proposals on the development of the city have been obtained from residents of Kyiv. I want to emphasize that we did not hold a public discussion just to observe formalities. Personally, I’m closely following the proposals that are being received. And I clearly understand that most of the proposals need to be implemented. The wise residents of Kyiv are offering us wise things. The proposals from Kyiv’s residents must be reflected in Kyiv’s general plan," he said.

Popov added that the new general plan of Kyiv would not change for the sake of commercial or political interests.

"The general plan will not be a document that will be changed twenty times a year in favor of certain political or financial groups. It’s in the past. Now, the general plan will not be adjusted to meet business interests, but vice versa," he said.
