An independent member of the Verkhovna Rada, Petro Poroshenko, doesn't rule out that he may be nominated for Kyiv mayor by the opposition.

“There will be a single candidate from the authorities and his name will not be Poroshenko. The name of the one from the opposition may be Poroshenko,” he said on ICTV Channel.

“Any candidate who is nominated can count on my support if he is nominated by the opposition,” the MP said.

Poroshenko has recently held a number of posts, in particular he worked as the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the foreign minister and the economy minister.
