You're reading: Price of primary housing in Kyiv slightly falls in February, 2.2% up over year

The average price of primary housing in Kyiv in February 2013 decreased by 0.07% compared to January and was up by 2.2% on February 2012, to Hr 13,459 per square meter, according to a report by the Stolychna Nerykhomist analytical portal (Kyiv).

“Due to the fact that in February 2013 completed objects, in which
the price of one square meter is higher compared to buildings recently
put up for sale at early stages of construction, were withdrawn from
sale, a slight decrease in average housing prices was seen,” said the
analysts.

The average price of new business class housing in February fell by
1.13%, to Hr 15,240 per sq m, and that of premium class housing – by
0.27%, to Hr 21,401 per sq m.

The price of economy class housing on the primary market in Kyiv is continuing to grow.

“Compared to January 2013, the average price of economy class housing
has increased by 0.3%, to Hr 9,987 per sq m,” reads the report.

The supply of apartments on the primary housing market in Kyiv in
February in terms of total area and in monetary terms increased by 1.6%
and 1.52% respectively.

“The share of economy class housing in the structure of primary
housing is 59%, that of business class housing – 28%, and that of
premium class housing – 13%,” reads the report.

Data on 134 new buildings in Kyiv were analyzed to prepare the report.
