Kyiv Prosecutor's Office has submitted a motion demanding that the city's police take proper steps to ensure the protection of public order at Hostynny Dvir (Hospitality Court, a historic building) in Kyiv.

The prosecutor’s office demanded that public order be maintained and
that possible conflicts at Hostynny Dvir be prevented, the media
liaisons department of Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office reported on Tuesday.

The prosecutor’s office said that the Podilsky district department of
police had in the last few days received 14 applications from activists
of an organization opposing the reconstruction of the building and
representatives of an organization conducting restoration work at
Hostynny Dvir.

As reported, on September 20, 2012, Kyiv City Council leased a
1.02-hectare land plot to Ukrrestavratsiya for five years to restore
Hostynny Dvir and turn it into an office center with a parking lot for
guests.

On August 3, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed a law
expelling Hostynny Dvir from the list of monuments of cultural heritage
that cannot be privatized.

Before that, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued resolution
No. 1380 dated August 15, 2011 to remove Hostynny Dvir from the list of
architectural monuments. According to the document, the building was
removed from the list of facilities guarded by the state.
