You're reading: Prosecutor’s Office says leader of Chernovetsky faction in Kyiv City Council to be charged

The charges and pre-trial restrictions in relation to Denys Komarnytsky, the head of the Bloc of Leonid Chernovetsky faction in Kyiv City Council, will be passed within three days, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported on Saturday.

"In line with the Code of Criminal Procedure, charges will be brought against him and the court will choose the measure of restraint within three days," the prosecutor’s office said, noting that priority investigation actions were currently conducted in the frames of this case.

At the same time, the press service didn’t specify the reasons for detaining Komarnytsky, suggesting that this might be related to his activities in Kyiv City Council.

As reported, officers of Kyiv’s department for combating organized crime, on the order of the Prosecutor General’s Office detained Komarnytsky on Friday, April 8.
