You're reading: Two thousand Party of Regions supporters on rally outside Rada building

About 2,000 supporters of the Party of Regions are on a rally outside the Verkhovna Rada building to back actions by President Viktor Yanukovych.

The party supporters are standing along Grushevsky’s Street near the parliament house.

They are carrying party flags and national flags.

The rally participants are also holding posters with inscriptions: "We Support Actions Of President Yanukovych!", "No To Revolutions!", "BYT Is Ruin, Regions Are Strong Ukraine."

No dynamic actions are taking place yet.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the same-name bloc, on April 27 called on citizens to come on May 11 up to the parliament house and demand denunciation of the agreement extending stay of the Russian Black Sea fleet on the territory of Ukraine.

On April 27, the Verkhovna Rada and the State Duma (lower chamber of the Russian parliament) ratified this agreement.
