The former director of Kyiv Zoo (1998-2006), Yevhen Kyryliuk, has been appointed the director general of the zoо. 

This information was distributed by the press service of Kyiv City State Administration on Thursday.

According to First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Mazurchak, a special commission approved this decision at a sitting.

Next week an instruction on the appointment of Kyryliuk will be signed and he will start carrying out his duties.

Seven people applied for the position and submitted five-year development programs for the zoo.

As reported, Oleksiy Tolstoukhov resigned as director general of the zoo on September 21. Mykhailo Ivanov replaced him as the acting head of the zoo.
