Kyiv Post

There is a certain romance behind fencing. It smacks of the old days when the word “honor” was important enough to fight for it, and you had to know how.

The people who will be arriving to the annual World Fencing Championship that Kyiv is hosting, certainly know how.

A total of 37 teams from 25 countries will take part in the tournament.

Only those who will not be taking part in the 30th Olympic Games in London this summer will come to compete. They will be female saber and male sword fencers.

The championship will be broadcast on Eurosport TV channel.

World Fencing Championship. Palats Sportu. April 13-14. Free. For detailed schedule visit tournament’s website www.fencing-2012.com
