You're reading: Modern sculpture fest

Kyiv is being invaded by all things arty. On top of ongoing modern art exhibitions, the botanical garden in the Pechersk neighborhood will turn into a major outdoor gallery displaying modern sculptures.

A total of 15 sculptures from Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Australia and Philippines will go on display between June 3 and July 2 within the framework of the first international festival of contemporary sculpture in Kyiv. The festival’s jury picked these sculptures out of almost 300 candidates applying to display their works. The best sculpture will be picked out on June 30, and its author will receive 6,000 euros in cash.
There will be a non-competition part of the festival too, exhibiting works of famous sculptures from Poland, Spain, Britain and China for the first time in Ukraine.
