Sex is an important part of life for about 44% of Ukrainian citizens, according to the sociological poll conducted by Kyiv International Institute under the order of Ukraine Today Company.
According to the results of the poll presented at the press conference in Kyiv on Monday, 95.1% of adult respondents had sexual relations, while 4.9% of polled have never had them.
For 16.7% of Ukrainians sex is of great importance, for 26.9% sex is rather important, and for 18% of respondents it is equally important and unimportant.
However, for Ukrainian men their sex life is more important than for women: for 55% of men and 34% of women sex is an important part of life.
For 9% of men and 22% of women sexual relations are unimportant.
Moreover, 92% of respondents reported that at 21 years old they had already had sex. Seven percent of those polled started having sex at 12 to 15 years old, majority, and 42%, from 16 to 18 years old.
The poll by the institute was conducted from February 8 to February 20, 2013 in 110 residential areas of Ukraine. 2,032 people from 18 years old were polled. The poll’s margin of error is 3.3%.
