Head of the Penta Center for Applied Political Studies Volodymyr Fesenko has said that well-known footballer Andriy Shevchenko's joining the Ukraine-Forward! Party led by Natalia Korolevska will not seriously influence the party's rating, but this will add a certain number of votes to the political force, which could be important in overcominh the 5% threshold in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
"It will add some votes to Natalia Korolevska's party, but this increase will be insignificant," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He said that by entering politics, Shevchenko would somewhat reduce his national ranking as the most successful Ukrainian footballer, but this will add some intrigue in a future election campaign.
He said that the party, in his opinion, did not focus on the political electorate, so the appearance of such a person could be justified.
Fesenko said that it would not be easy for Shevchenko to find his place in Ukrainian politics
