Ukrainian prime minister Mykola Azarov has come to Pechersky District Court of Kyiv to be questioned as a witness in a criminal case on the 2009 gas contracts against former prime minister and opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

Azarov is currently being questioned, a journalist of Interfax-Ukraine reported.

The prime minister came to the Pechersk District Court with his personal photographer and cameraman, despite the court ban on photo and video recording, Tymoshenko’s press-office reported.

This outraged members of the audience, particularly representatives of the media who are not allowed to record the proceedings.

One of the journalists asked Judge Rodion Kireyev about the legality of their presence in the courtroom. The judge reminded that the court banned everyone in the courtroom to record the proceedings, except for the police who are recording violations of court rules of behavior.

The premier’s "personal press" were forced to leave the courtroom.
