The Batkivschyna Party has asked foreign law enforcement agencies to investigate the unlawful publication and falsification of private correspondence of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's daughter, Yevhenia, as well as that of former Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Hryhoriy Nemyria.

“We realize that it makes no sense to expect justice from Ukrainian judicial bodies, because they, led by [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych, are the organizers and accomplices of another crime concerning a series of political repressions. So we turned to the law enforcement agencies of other countries, the citizens of which were affected by the fact of the publication,” the Batkivschyna United Opposition said in a statement on Monday.

According to the opposition, its statements about the crime are already being investigated by law enforcers from the United States, Britain and Germany. In addition, according to the statement, all interlocutors of Tymoshenko’s daughter from the illegally published correspondence have turned to the law enforcement agencies of their respective countries at their own initiative.

The opposition also said that the actions of those who organized and executed the publication and falsification of correspondence are considered a crime and are subject to Ukrainian criminal law and international law.

According to the opposition, particularly cynical is the fact that the published information contains both true episodes and false ones, from the first to last word. Unlike Nemyria’s correspondence, which is completely falsified, Yevhenia Tymoshenko’s correspondence contains both the truth, and partially or completely false information.

“We’ve already found that the owner of domain names and Web sites zhuzhaleaks.com and nemyrialeaks.com is the same person, and that the Web provider of these sites is also the same individual registered in Kyiv. This indicates that the publication of false reports is systematic and was ordered [by someone],” the opposition said.

The Batkivschyna Party also asked journalists and Ukrainian citizens not to distribute Tymoshenko’s personal correspondence.

According to media reports, a number of letters pointing to the organization and payment by former Prime Minister Tymoshenko’s associates of lobbying services in the United States were anonymously published on the Web site zhuzhaleaks.com.

The Web site nemyrialeaks.com, which released documents showing the alleged illegal payment by Nemyria of Tymoshenko’s PR campaign in Europe, was registered in 2012.
