You're reading: Bohoslovska seen as stalking horse in support of Yanukovych

Inna Bohoslovska’s biography on her official website states that she was choosing among theater, sociology and law when entering the university after high school.

Eventually she went for law, but her theatrical potential often overtakes everything else when she leads public rallies. A lawyer, auditor and state tax authority for many years, she dived into a presidential race for the first time in her career. Not even likely to get 1 percent voter support, Bohoslovska was a member of Victor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions in 2007-2008 before going solo, and had before that been allied with Victor Pinchuk, the Ukrainian billionaire and son-in-law to ex-president Leonid Kuchma. Therefore, some analysts explain her role in the elections as stripping votes away from their longtime archrival, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
