The Chesno public movement has said that 331 out of the 450 members of the newly elected parliament fall short of its criteria of honesty, an expert of the initiative Viktor Taran said at a round table meeting to announce the results of the Chesno nationwide campaign in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to its results, 114 parliamentary candidates who won seats
in parliament violated the rights and freedoms of citizens, 30 changed
their political position, 233 were involved in corrupt practices, 185
have nontransparent incomes and expenses, 156 did not personally take
part in voting in previous parliaments, and 101 shirked work in
parliament.

Out of these 331 offenders, 162 are current MPs (49%). Some 56% of
the offenders were elected to the parliament in single-seat
constituencies. Of these, 170 are representatives of the Party of
Regions, 69 of the Batkivschyna United Opposition, 18 of the Communist
Party of Ukraine, 17 of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union, twelve of the
UDAR Party, 38 are self-nominees, and seven are representatives of the
other parties.

The new parliament will have at least 30 MPs who earlier changed
their political position while working in parliament or on local
councils.
