The parliamentary elections, which took place in Ukraine, were transparent and democratic, a member of the CIS-EMO monitoring mission Alexei Kochetkov has said.

“In our opinion, the elections were held successfully in Ukraine. They were transparent. The obtained result reflects the will of the Ukrainian people,” he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv on Monday.

The mission member noted that the elections were held in compliance with international standards that define fair and democratic elections. At the same time, the mission has a lot of complaints about the quality of elections in some regions, he said.

Kochetkov added that these are their preliminary findings and that the full report of the mission will be ready on Monday afternoon.
