You're reading: Court sitting on Tymoshenko’s case put off until July 4

The court hearing of a criminal case against Batkivschyna Party leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on charges of abuse of office during the signing of gas contracts with Russia in 2009 has been adjourned until July 4.

Judge Rodion Kireyev of the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv announced this on Wednesday.

"Participants in the hearing have the right to study the case file. The court has obliged the defendant to notify her council… and decided o postpone the hearing until July 4, 2011," he said.

Prior to that, Tymoshenko asked the court to give her three days to study the case file and the indictment.
