Crimean Prime Minister Vasyl Dzharty has said that the local elections in Crimea were conducted in a fair, democratic and transparent way, and thanked residents of Crimea for participating in the vote on Oct. 31.

This is stated in Dzharty’s address to the residents of the autonomy, which was published on Monday by the main information policy department of the Crimean Council of Ministers.

"The elections in Crimea were conducted fairly, democratically and transparently. This was confirmed by the opinion of a number of reputable international observers. Crimean residents received an opportunity of free expression. The authorities of the autonomy, in turn, have made every effort to ensure equal conditions for election campaigning for all political groups on the peninsula," the Crimean prime minister said.

Dzharty, who heads the Crimean branch of the Regions Party, was the No.1 on the electoral list of the Regions Party in the election of Crimean parliament deputies.
