You're reading: Czech parliament votes for ratification of EU-Ukraine association agreement at first reading

The lower house of the parliament of the Czech Republic has approved at first reading the ratification of the Agreement on Association between Ukraine and the European Union, Radio Prague reported on April 2.

According to Radio Prague, the Dawn of Direct Democracy and the Communist party opposed the approval of the document. The Foreign and European Affairs Committees now have 40 days to discuss the agreement before the final approval process.

The Czech Senate ratified the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in December 2014.
