Kharkiv - Ukrainian presidential chief-of-staff Andriy Kliuyev has not visited former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko at Kharkiv's Hospital No. 5, Tymoshenko's lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

“Such an option was ruled out,” he said.

Ihor Kolpaschykov, director of the Kachanivska penitentiary, where the former prime minister is serving her sentence, also denied media claims concerning Kliuyev’s meeting with Tymoshenko.

“I know nothing of such a meeting,” he said.

Ukrainian media outlets reported earlier, citing a source in an opposition faction’s leadership, that Kliuyev had visited Tymoshenko last week. The source claimed that Kliuyev and Tymoshenko had discussed a potential joint search for a way out of the country’s crisis, as well as the possibility of the Party of Regions and Batkivschyna joining forces in the Verkhovna Rada.
