Ukraine should integrate into Europe and Eurasia simultaneously, Chairman of the Board of the United World International Foundation Eduard Prutnik has said.

He said this at the opening of an international academic and research conference, entitled "A Shanghai Project for Ukraine," in Kyiv on Friday.

"It’s important for Ukraine to be integrated into two powerful integration spaces – Europe and Eurasia. Major inter-regional projects in energy and transport are impossible in communications between the East and the West without Kyiv’s participation. Ukraine is not just a bridge between cultures and economic spaces. It’s an integral part of the new architecture of a multi-polar world," the expert said.

He also noted that Ukraine’s development could be successful if the country actively participates both in Euro-integration and inter-regional projects in Eurasia, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
