Brussels - Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov, acting as the Ukrainian head of state, is legitimate for the European Union, European Commission spokesperson Olivier Bailly said at a briefing in Brussels on Monday, Feb.24.
We respect the procedure, as a result of which Mr. Turchynov was authorized to perform the duties vested in him, Bailly said.
