Rallies in support of Ukraine's European integration, or "Euromaidan", held in the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, were broken up by police at court order on Nov.25.

Policemen also removed lawmaker Ruslan Martsinkiv’s improvised “reception office” accommodated in a tent in the Popudrenko Park.

The improvised stage and tents were pulled down and taken away in a truck.

More than 80 policemen turned up in Red Square in Chernihiv to
fulfill the Nov. 23 court order to ban the Democratic Alliance and
other parties from setting up structures during peace demonstrations and
using cassette and video players from Nov. 23, 2013 until Jan.
7, 2014. They cordoned off the place and started dismantling the tent.

A demonstrator attempted to pour gasoline over himself, media reports claimed.
