You're reading: Fight breaks out in Kyiv court hearing Tymoshenko case

A fight broke out between supporters of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and unidentified young people in the Pechersky District Court where hearings of Tymoshenko's gas case continue on Friday.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reports that Tymoshenko’s supporters publicly insulted Inna Bohoslovska, who was present in the courtroom.

Bohoslovska, a member of the Party of Regions, heads an ad hoc parliamentary committee probing the circumstances of the signing of the gas agreements between Naftogaz Ukraine and Gazprom.

After that, a group of young people sitting at the opposite end of the room started chanting "Take Yulia to task!"

Tymoshenko’s supporters and members of parliament started fighting with the young people and pushed them out of the court building.

Verbal exchanges continue.
