German members of the Greens Group of the European Parliament Rebecca Harms and Werner Schulz have urged German Chancellor Angela Merkel to visit Ukraine and meet with the convicted former prime minister, Yulia Tymoshenko.

The European lawmakers made this appeal after a meeting with
Tymoshenko in Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv, the
Batkivschyna party’s press service reported referring to the German
newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt.

“Yulia Tymoshenko is a very brave woman with a heart of striker
Andriy Shevchenko and the strength of the Klitschko brothers,” the press
service quoted Schulz as saying.
