Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman has said that there is no reason for the government to resign or for the coalition to break up.

“At present, I do not see any real reasons for the breakup of the coalition and the resignation of the government. However, I do not rule out that there will be certain reshuffles in the government,” the speaker said on Friday at a press conference on the results of the year’s of work of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation when asked by an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent what the chances for early parliamentary elections were.

According to the speaker, some ministers have not performed their jobs satisfactorily.

Groysman said personnel reshuffles in the government will be discussed in the framework of the coalition. However, he stressed they needed to focus not on replacing separate officials, but on “the tasks cases that need to be accomplished in 2016”.

“At the moment, the government’s resignation is not on the agenda of the Ukrainian parliament,” he stressed.

The speaker said he opposed the early parliamentary elections, which in the current situation will throw Ukraine back for at least a year.
