KHARKIV – Chief of Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv Mykhailo Afanasyev has said that he does not know when the German Charite Clinic doctors will return to continue their treatment of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko.

“Doctor [Lutz] Harms left in a rush. We asked him, but he said he did
not know [when he would return],” Afanasyev told journalists on
Thursday, July 12.

He added that the ex-premier’s treatment schedule, which Harms drew up before his departure, had no deadlines.

The chief of the clinic confirmed that Tymoshenko was still refusing to take a blood test.

“One sample could be sent to the Charite Clinic, another one to a
Ukrainian laboratory, and one more sample could be saved to settle
expert questions, but she and her lawyer have refused to permit such a
procedure,” Afanasyev said.
