The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft instruction of the president of Ukraine on the appointment of Ukraine's national coordinator of cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

The press service recalled that former First Vice Premier and Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Andriy Kliuyev held this position from April 20, 2011.

In connection with the recent personnel reshuffle in the government, there appeared the need to change Ukraine’s national coordinator of cooperation within the CIS.

According to the regulation on national coordinators of CIS member states dated October 10, 2008, which Ukraine joined on November 9, 2010, member states usually appoint to this position deputy premiers and other officials that have enough power to effectively fulfill their duties.

Due to this it is proposed to appoint Ukrainian First Vice Premier Valeriy Khoroshkovsky as the national coordinator, the Foreign Ministry said.
