You're reading: KIIS poll: Yanukovych will win presidential run-off election

Regions Party leader Victor Yanukovych will win the second round of Ukraine's presidential election, according to a survey carried out by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on Jan. 4-13.

Some 55.9% of voters are ready to support Yanukovych in the presidential run-off vote, while 40.7% of citizens are inclined to vote for current Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

Some 3.4% of Ukrainians are planning to vote against both candidates.

Yanukovych has the greatest support in Ukraine’s eastern and southern regions, while Tymoshenko is mostly backed in the country’s western and central regions.

Yanukovych and Tymoshenko will face a run-off vote on February 7.
