UDAR Party Leader Vitaliy Klitschko doesn't rule out that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych may seek discounts on Russian natural gas in exchange for Ukraine's gas transportation system (GTS).
“There are reports that a discount may be obtained in exchange for the Ukrainian pipeline, but the GTS is a strategic component of the Ukrainian economy, and we would hate to have Ukrainian interests surrendered,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
Klitschko expressed a belief that the president intended to get the money from the Russian Federation. “But we know that no one gives money for nothing,” the politician said.
