The Regions Party wants the elections to the Verkhovna Rada to be held as transparently as possible and in accordance with applicable law, the head of the party's central election headquarters, Andriy Kliuyev, has said.
"Many of the candidates who have already been registered are rather well-known. We were pretty careful in selecting candidates for MP, including those in single-member districts," the party's press service quoted him as saying on Tuesday, while commenting on the Central Election Commission's decision on the registration of candidates from the Regions Party in the national multi-member district and candidates for MP who will run in single-member districts.
He said that the party had chosen experts who can work on lawmaking in various sectors of the economy, and in education, science and health care.
The party, in fact, selected experts who can implement the reforms initiated by the Ukrainian president, Kliuyev said.
He noted that two candidates who were previously included in the party list later refused to participate in the election campaign.
Kliuyev said that the Regions Party would win the upcoming elections.
"I think that we will win these elections. We must win them. We will continue to pursue the course declared by President Yanukovych. We want to see the elections being held as transparently and fairly as possible and in accordance with Ukrainian legislation," he said.
