You're reading: Kozhara rejects allegations about international isolation of Ukraine

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara does not think that Ukraine is experiencing international isolation.

“The notion of Ukraine’s international isolation is a political term used by people who really wish the current government faced isolation,” the minister told a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

“I would like to stress once again that there is no international isolation,” Kozhara said.

Asked whet steps Ukraine should take in order to become friends with France, Germany, Sweden and other countries, the minister said that he is planning to visit Stockholm and there are no obstacles to the visit. Kozhara added that Germany has also confirmed its readiness to host the Ukrainian foreign minister’s visit.

“The issue of some criminal cases is often raised in our relations [with the EU member states]. But I as a minister discuss dozens of other issues, which today are more important in the context of Ukraine’s relations with the EU and certain other states,” Kozhara said.
