MOSCOW - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Italian counterpart Federica Mogherini spoke by telephone on Sept. 1 to discuss the Ukrainian crisis "under the angle of the search for optimal ways of its political settlement," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Sept. 1.
The two ministers also touched upon some pressing international issues.
Lavrov congratulated Mogherini on her nomination for the office of the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
