Former Ukrainian prime minister Pavlo Lazarenko has again denied any involvement in the 1996 murder of parliamentary deputy Yevhen Scherban.
Scherban's son, Ruslan, is one of those who have blamed the lawmaker's murder on Lazarenko.
"Ruslan Scherban must know that I have nothing to do with the death of his father. I would like to urge him to be a dignified person and not a puppet for those who are today manipulating his filial status in such a disgraceful and clumsy way and will abandon him afterward," Lazarenko said in a statement for the media disseminated by his lawyer Maryna Dolhopola on Monday, Apr. 9.
"I assert once again that all the latest statements of the Office of the Prosecutor General and Ruslan Scherban are cynical lies about me. I have nothing to do with that crime," Lazarenko said.
