Luhansk, June 7 (Interfax) - Valery Bolotov, the head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, doubted that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko could visit the region in the near future.

“I think he won’t visit us himself as long as a military operation is under way here. I can’t imagine how he wants to put things in order here other than by military actions,” Bolotov said at a press conference on Saturday.

Bolotov refused to comment on Poroshenko’s presidential inauguration on Saturday. “The Ukrainians have made their choice, and this is what they will live with. We cannot officially comment on this event,” he said.

“As concerns our republic, we don’t have diplomatic relations with Ukraine. Starting today, Ukraine has had its president, and the blood of both our people and citizens of Ukraine will be on his conscience now,” he added.
