The US spin-doctors of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko are trying to keep public attention on the ex-premier by inventing stories in the style of Hollywood thrillers, Regions Party MP Vladyslav Lukianov has said.

“The stories made up by U.S. spin-doctors about the secret operations of security services and the recruitment of minor relatives of the Tymoshenko family are reminiscent of Hollywood thrillers, which surprise a Ukrainian audience and make them laugh,” he said, while commenting on a statement by Tymoshenko’s husband, Oleksandr, that the government is allegedly pressurizing the relatives of the former prime minister, the press service of the Regions Party reported on Monday.

Lukianov said that people who “know nothing about the mentality of the Ukrainian people” were working on statements for Tymoshenko’s lawyer and her husband.

“I think that all this nonsense has only one goal – to prevent Ukrainian society from forgetting Tymoshenko. But believe me, all citizens of our country will remember her for a long time, as they are now forced to pay three times more for gas, and there are even more people who became the victims of manipulations organized by her UESU company in the 1990s,” he said.
