Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko has said that his health enables him to return to politics, but he needs to undergo a number of medical procedures.

“My health is not as good as my family and friends would like it to
be, but not as bad as my enemies would want it to be,” he told reporters
on Friday before a meeting of the Kyevo-Sviatoshynsky District Court of
Kyiv region, which will consider his complaint against the illegality
of actions by First Deputy Procurator General Renat Kuzmin regarding the
illegality of his arrest.

Lutsenko also said that he had undergone treatment in Poland.

“I underwent an examination and another minor operation in the
Central Clinical Hospital in Warsaw, and two serious procedures are
planned for a later date, for which experts will come. Unfortunately,
they are not in Poland now, but I’m fully prepared for full
participation in Ukrainian politics,” he said.

However, he said that he would probably have to go abroad several times “for small medical procedures.”
