Lutsenko notes mistakes on electoral list of opposition

Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko has criticized the decision not to include Yuriy Hrymchak, Andriy Shkil and Mykhailo Volynets in the upper part of the list of the united opposition.

"Mistakes concern the inclusion in the 'risk zone' of active opposition fighters - Hrymchak, Shkiland Volynets. Even greater is the non-support of Taras Stetskiv as an agreed candidate in Lviv... It's unfair and shortsighted. I must say that I reserve the right to campaign for Taras," Lutsenko wrote in his blog on the Web site of the Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper.

Lutsenko said that shortcomings and mistakes on the list concerned the minimal presence of public activists, and the fact that it was not made public beforehand.

"I'm glad that the list includes Oleksandra Kuzhel, Mykola Kniazhytsky, and Mustafa Dzhemilev, but I also dreamt of seeing Myroslava Popovych, Serhiy Hrabovsky, Myroslava Marynovych, Vakhtang Kipiani, Maksym Strikha and other social activists on the list," he said.

"A systemic problem is that these lists were made public known on the day of the Batkivschyna congress. I thought and still think that they had to be published at least 10-15 days before. This would remove the mistakes of the headquarters and [calmed] the emotions of those who were insulted," the ex-minister wrote.
