Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko is planning to attend a meeting of the Kyiv Court of Appeal on Jan. 4 during the consideration of his appeal against a ruling by the Pechersky district court of Kyiv to change pre-trial restrictions against him from a ban on his traveling outside Kyiv to his arrest, the press service of the People's Self-Defense Party has reported.

As reported, Lutsenko was detained near his house on Sunday, December 26. On December 27, the Pechersky district court of Kyiv ordered Lutsenko to be jailed for two months. On December 28, it became known that Lutsenko had been moved from a Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prison to Lukianivka Prison No.13.

"The right to participate in a court hearing is an essential constitutional right of every citizen and it should be satisfied," the press service said.

Lutsenko is planning to prove in court that the Prosecutor General’s Office had no reason to change pre-trial restrictions against him from a travel ban to arrest, reads the statement.
