Pechersky District Court in Kyiv has announced a break in the hearing of a criminal case against former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko concerning the investigation of the poisoning of Ukraine's third president (2005-2010) Viktor Yuschenko until July 25, so that the trial participants can study the modified indictment.

Presiding Judge Hanna Medushevska declared a break in the hearing after a state prosecutor announced that the PGO had changed the charges against the ex-minister from abuse of power or office (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) to that of negligence (Part 1 of Article 367), an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
Commenting on these actions by the prosecutor's office, Lutsenko said:
"Through changing the indictment the prosecutor's office is trying to cover up its own crime – the fabrication of this case."
