The Verkhovna Rada will definitely return to the question of the personal participation of MPs in voting, Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn has said.

"Of course, we will return [to this question]," he said in an interview with Channel 5 broadcast on Thursday evening, when asked whether the parliament will again return to the issue of the personal voting of deputies.

"But you know perfectly well that we need 226 votes [for a decision to introduce a new voting system that foresees the individual participation of MPs in votes]," he said.

"I don’t see these 226 votes at present," Lytvyn said.

As reported, on March 17, 2011, the parliament refused to support a resolution to introduce the registration of MPs and fix the results of their personal voting using a sensor button. On the next day, Lytvyn registered a bill on amending the Verkhovna Rada’s rules of procedure regarding the personal voting of deputies.
